Our Montessori preschool programs: Transition and Primary
Our Transition Program is for children 33 months to 3 ½ years old. This program helps them transition from the toddler program to a Montessori preschool class. In this class, children focus more on practical life skills, expanding their vocabulary, movement, sensory, math, and science. They learn about the world around them and begin to take it all in and process.
Our Primary Program is for children ages 3 ½ – 5 and is a Montessori preschool class where the children focus on preparation for kindergarten. Primary students learn so much, mastering their letters and numbers, learning about the world around them through Geography and, how things work in Science. And so much more. Our Montessori preschool program also helps children learn how to be social, how to act respectfully in social settings, how to care about people and the environment. These are lessons they take with them and use their whole lives.
Each of our programs is a building block to the next stage. Every child learns at a different pace, and the Montessori program allows children to move at the right pace for them.
Everything the children have learned in Toddler and Transition comes together in Primary. In the toddler classroom, they may have focused on learning to wipe tables by using a circular motion. In Transition, they may have focused on painting and drawing, and in Primary, they now can hold a pencil and learn how to write their names because they have the correct muscle memory from the other two activities. It all comes full circle and prepares them for Kindergarten.
